Carbon Infrastructure Partners - executive interview

Carbon Infrastructure Partners - executive interview

Carbon Infrastructure Partners (CIP) is a leading oil, gas and carbon management investor in western Canada. The firm has made investments in 65 early-stage companies over the last 21 years. With continued growth in demand for oil and gas and falling capital expenditure over the last decade, the industry is structurally underinvested in and, coupled with historically low valuations, presents an opportunity for investment in the sector. Canada is distinguished by having world-class environmental standards and CIP focuses on reducing emissions and water usage through newer more efficient technologies. In this video, Craig Golinowski, president and managing partner of CIP, discusses the macro environment and how their new fund is best placed for investing in and developing assets in the area. They seek to raise between $50m and $150m for private upstream energy projects in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.

Bitesize briefing - Faroe Petroleum

Bitesize briefing - Faroe Petroleum

Sanjeev Bahl discusses our recent initiation on Faroe Petroleum and the company’s exploration-led growth strategy. Norwegian exploration tax incentives, combined with recent success at Iris/Hades, underpin finding costs of c $1/boe (post-tax) and have delivered a portfolio of projects with point-forward IRRs ranging from 21% to 41% at $70/bbl. We believe that the market is not fully valuing the risked value of Faroe’s upcoming seven-well E&A programme that targets un-risked prospective resource of 144mmboe, or is not fully taking into consideration the positive cash flow impact of tax depreciation carry-forwards/consolidation in Norway.
