In this video, technical director Andy Carroll talks about the opportunities that Mosman has recognised as a result of the current low oil price, and the company’s ability to acquire high quality assets at a reasonable price. He discusses in detail the South Taranaki Energy Project (STEP) potential acquisition from Origin, and announces that the company is now in the stage of finalising the funding; the transaction is set to complete towards the end of 2015. Andy ends by discussing Mosman’s business strategy to grow the company to a sustainable mid-cap, and emphasises the fact that they will continue to look at further high-quality acquisitions in due course.

Analyst Interview - Sound Oil

Analyst Interview - Sound Oil

Sound Oil is an AIM-listed exploration and production company with majority working interests in 18 licences, all located in Italy. Sound Oil has had considerable success in building the beginnings of an Italy-focused upstream portfolio from these assets, with two fields in production: Rapagnano and Casa Tiberi; three fields scheduled for further appraisal: Nervesa, Laura and Santa Maria Goretti; and two sizeable, drill-ready exploration prospects: Badile and Zibido. Now that Sound has attracted a strategic investor in 2014 (Continental Investment Partners), we foresee a period of high activity, with a rejuvenated balance sheet and five material exploration and appraisal prospects scheduled for drilling in the coming 18-24 months. Of these, exploration prospect Badile (scheduled to spud in late 2014 pending a farm-out agreement) has company-maker potential, while continued appraisal of existing discoveries Nervesa, Laura and SMG offers lower-risk incremental value to shareholders.

Executive Interview – Green Dragon Gas

Executive Interview – Green Dragon Gas

Green Dragon Gas (GDG) is arguably the leading coal bed methane (CBM) independent in China. Upstream operations are focused on six production sharing contracts (PSCs) in the east-central and south of the country. Proved and probable reserves have recently been sharply increased following a drilling programme on GDG’s properties by third parties. Reserves on the 1P and 2P definitions now stand at 300bcf and 600bcf respectively, against 59bcf and 313bcf respectively. On a 3P basis reserves are a substantial 2,600bcf, up from 2,508bcf previously. Production was running at 2.84bcf annualised in Q313 and is scheduled to exceed a 5bcf exit rate by end-2013. GDG is expecting to achieve its longstanding exit production objective of 18bcf (roughly 0.5% of China’s current gas production) by end-2014. The reserve upgrades have increased confidence in GDG’s ability to achieve these objectives. GDG also has downstream interests based on a CNG (compressed natural gas) transportation business and a network of CNG retail stations in Henan province. At the end of June 2013 six retail stations were commissioned with a further two awaiting commissioning. The long-term plan is to establish a 31 CNG station network.
