Investment summary

XP reported a strong performance in H117 and is seeing good demand across its customer base. Based on the order intake in H1, management has a more positive outlook for FY17 and we have upgraded our forecasts accordingly. Our normalised EPS forecasts increase by 8% in FY17 and 3% in FY18. We view our underlying FY18 growth forecast of 5% as conservative – if order intake continues at a similar pace in H217 we see scope for further upgrades. To support future growth, XP is investing in manufacturing capacity in Vietnam and engineering resource, and continues to look for suitable acquisitions.

Executive Interview – XP Power

Industry outlook

XP supplies three end-markets: Healthcare, Industrial and Technology, across Europe, North America and Asia. The Industrial segment is relatively fragmented, but the company sees demand across various applications. The Healthcare business continues to gain market share, with corporate approvals from the major suppliers in place. The Technology segment is the most cyclical, with semi fab suppliers showing strong growth.
