Investment summary

APQ is a global emerging markets company targeting a sustainable and growing dividend as well as capital growth, by focusing on investment opportunities with the potential to generate significant income and long-term growth. At the end of 2017, APQ increased its 3.5% convertible loan issue by £10.2m to c £30.2m. The increase in gearing through the current year, assuming a continuation of market trends and no early conversion of CULS, should have a positive impact on the income earned from investments, and supports the expectation that dividends, 6p per share in respect of 2017, may at least be maintained in the current year. Although dividends are paid in sterling, APQ’s functional currency is US dollars, and at the end of February 2018 its unaudited book value per share was $1.2704, equivalent to 92.2p
