Investment summary

Growth in Q217 picked up from 17% to 34%, with EBITDA turning positive in the quarter. Much hinges on the seasonally larger Q4 period; however, a significant share of demand is from video and programmatic, the faster-growing parts of the ecosystem. Management is targeting EBITDA of €15m to €18m next year. Credit has been secured – this should fund working capital and earn-out obligations in FY17, which, with the restructuring of the €150m convertible bond earlier in the year, lifts a major overhang on the shares (which have been converted from registered to bearer form). The shares, down 60% ytd, are at more interesting levels; however, until the issues surrounding the put option granted to the former Fyber shareholders is settled, they may not trade at full value.

Industry outlook

Programmatic buying is becoming the dominant way of buying advertising in the fast-growth segment of mobile advertising. e-Marketer forecasts a three-year CAGR of 122% to 2017 in programmatic buying of mobile advertising. By building out the client base for its programmatic video solution and expanding the range of products available on its ad exchange, management believes it will capture an increasing share of this growing market.
