Investment summary

APQ is a global emerging markets company targeting a sustainable and growing dividend as well as capital growth, by focusing on emerging markets-focused investment opportunities with the potential to generate significant income and long-term growth. It benefits from a non-executive International Advisory Council of market experts that assists management by providing valuable insights and market intelligence from around the world, and also with partner companies that provide APQ with the right of first refusal to participate in any of their future capital raises. In a turbulent Q3 for emerging markets, APQ generated a total book value return of -0.24%, with a dividend of $1.97c (1.5p) paid and an unaudited book value at 30 September of $1.0596 (equivalent to 81.26p). The company says that it is comfortably on track to meet its target annual dividend yield of 6%, with the dividend well covered by economic income in the portfolio. The unaudited 30 October book value per share was $0.9710 (c 75.99p) including an accrual for the third quarterly DPS of 1.5p payable on 30 November.
