Investment summary

Avon Rubber has announced another M50 order in the final year of the 10-year sole-source contract with the US Department of Defense (DoD). This order underpins FY18 and FY19 expectations and we make no changes to our forecasts. However, Avon is in advanced negotiations with the US DoD on future programmes, which fit comfortably with its growth strategy.

Industry outlook

The US defence budget environment looks promising for Avon as it increases army troop numbers, while order activity has picked up closer to home. Avon is increasingly focused on higher price sophisticated mask systems. Meanwhile, growth has been encouraging in Farm Services, building greater visibility into the business. We maintain our view that Avon has the market position, product portfolio and strategic ambition to further accelerate its growth through organic and inorganic means.
