Investment summary

Foresight (FRSX) is engaged in the design, development and commercialisation of stereo/quad-camera automotive vision systems and V2X cellular-based solutions for the auto industry. In Q118 it launched the demo version of its QuadSight system and mobile phone-based Eye-Net solution, which provides real-time collision alerts to pedestrians and drivers. FRSX recently sold Quadsight prototypes to the truck division of a European vehicle manufacturer and a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer. 35%-owned Rail collision warning specialist Rail Vision has also achieved very encouraging results in pilot trials with a leading European rail group. Helped by cash from $6m of a $12.3m share issue cash holdings totalled $19.6m at end-H118.

Industry outlook

ADAS is one of the fastest-growing markets in the auto industry. ABI Research forecasts total spending in the ADAS market to grow at a 29% CAGR over the next decade, with sales of vulnerable-user (cyclists/pedestrians) detection systems, which are principally reliant on forward-camera systems, forecast to achieve a 49% CAGR during this period. From 2020, the growth of FA-vehicle production should further boost forward-camera demand.
